Primary City/State:Phoenix, ArizonaDepartment Name: Specimen Proc-Ref LabWork Shift: NightJob Category:Lab SupportPOSITION SUMMARYThis position is responsible for the receipt of biological lab specimens into the department. Performs pre and post analytical sorting of specimens for distribution to the appropriate areas.CORE -FUNCTIONS1. Verifies accuracy of specimen labels and appropriateness of specimen temperatures received and advises coordinator of any discrepancies.2. Sorts specimens based on specimen type and places them in appropriate bins for distribution. Focuses on quality by ensuring that all work performed is accurate and complete. Follows established procedures and methods. Complies with all safety rules and follow defined safety practices. Meets departmental standards for productivity as currently defined.3. Participates in departmental financial monitoring and improvement. Supports waste reduction and expense reduction programs. Assists supervisor and manager in monitoring and controlling expenses throughout the year.4. Monitors and maintains departmental workflow. Meets departmental standards for productivity as currently defined.5. Communicates courteously and professionally with internal and external customers. Interacts with co-workers with an emphasis on teamwork and a focus on customer service.6. Supports and exhibits behaviors consistent with the Company's Mission, Vision and Values. Follows the guidelines of the Code of Conduct.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Good reading, writing and math abilities.
• Oral and written communication skills sufficient to understand written and spoken instructions in English.
• Good organization skills.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum age requirement of 18.
  • Must meet all training competency qualifications for Specimen Preparation Sorter within six months of hire.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
