  • THIS POSITION REQUIRES A FULL 3 YEARS OF ICU EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED. The right candidate will have 3 full years of current ICU experience and hold an active BLS, ACLS, NIHSS and AZ license or compact license (TNCC is preferred). Travelers could also float to the sister facility Mercy Gilbert, if needed.
  • Typically, every other weekend is required but might have to work 3 weekends a month if unit is busy and needs extra coverage. Flexibility is a must.
  • Travelers must pass a dysrhythmia exam upon offer with 2 max attempts. There is also a pass/fail Sim Lab on Day 1 of orientation (study guides will be provided with the first day instructions).

    • Must have 3 years of recent ICU experience to be considered, no exceptions.
    • Experience must also include EITHER neuro or CV.
      • Schedule Information
      • Self scheduling. Manager may need to balance shifts for unit needs.
      • 3 weekend shifts in a 4 week schedule, Nightshift weekends are Friday - Saturday. Dayshift are Saturday - Sunday.
      • May have 1 holiday off in an assignment.
      • No additional call/standby shifts required. However, may be low censused up to 3 times per contract depending on unit needs.
        • Unit Specific Information
        • Surgical ICU - Trauma Neuro Surgery: 32 Beds, Nurse:Patient Ratios 1:2, 1:1.
        • Medical ICU - Medical Cardiac + Overflow: 36 Medical Cardiac unit + 12 bed overflow unit, Nurse:Patient Ratios 1:2, 1:1.
          • Additional Details
          • ACLS, BLS, NIHSS; Auto-offer based off clinical prescreen. UNA Dysrhythmia Exam required 24-48hrs PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE of a position. MAX ATTEMPTS IS 2.
          • There is also a pass/fail Sim Lab on Day 1 of orientation.
          • Additional Notes: Will validate skills for trauma, neuro and speciality devices as needed. Sister units are a medical/cardiac 36 bed ICU & 12 bed overflow ICU. Expectation is to float between all 3 ICUs.
