Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Telemetry - Tele Neuro 2B Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour nights, every other weekend (could be every 3rd); first to float Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required for submission Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Cerner experience and travel experience Job Description: - Medical Solutions will prescreen candidates and may offer based on prescreen recommendation. - Completion of UNA Dysrhythmia Exam is required prior to signing the contract, with a maximum of two attempts allowed. This is necessary for various units including Telemetry/IMC. - A pass/fail simulation lab is conducted on the first day of orientation, with study guides provided beforehand. - The unit accommodates 28 beds and adheres to a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio. - A charge nurse is present and does not take patients. - Nurse aides are available to assist in patient care. - Weekend work is required every other weekend but could be every third week. - Staff holiday rotation is integrated with permanent staff. - Navy scrubs are the designated attire. - GE Monitors are used for telemetry, and proficiency in interpreting EKGs is required. - No ventilators are managed on this unit. - An intensivist is available in-house 24/7. - The facility offers 24/7 RT and pharmacy services. - Shifts are from 7 to 7. - Floating to Cardiac Telemetry and/or MedSurg Oncology is required. - Floor-specific orientation consists of three shifts. - Common patient diagnoses include CVA post-TPA, TIAs, head bleeds, carotids, thoracotomies, and post-surgical patients requiring telemetry. - The facility may cancel up to three times per contract, with each cancellation affecting a full shift or part of a shift.
