  • Job Details
  • The registered nurse in the Cardiac Observation Unit provides a high level of care for the Cath Lab patients pre and post procedures.
  • Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care.
  • Assists physicians during examinations and procedures.
  • Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse.
  • Our Cardiac Observation Unit (COU) is where our patients are prepped for procedures and recovered post procedure.
  • Our team works with high risk, high acuity patients and pride ourselves in superb outcomes.
  • Bedside procedures such as Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) and Cardioversions (CV) are performed in COU.

    • MUST HAVE: RN-AZ or compact state license
    • ACLS
    • BLS
    • Will consider experience in the following areas on a case-by-case basis: PACU, ICU, TELEMETRY, CATH LAB, SURGERY CENTER
      • Schedule Information
      • Varies: 3 x 12s: Days (0600-1800, 0700-1900, 0800-2000)
      • Potential for call on Saturdays from 0700-1500 (this is a new process we are working on)
        • Unit Specific Information
        • COU - CARDIAC OBSERVATION UNIT
        • Admit patients
        • Prep patients for Cath procedures (charting pre procedure checklist, IV start, access preparation)
        • Prep patients for Cardioversions (CV), and Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE)
        • Recover patients following Cath who had conscious sedation
        • Sedate, Circulate, and document bedside procedures; CV & TEE
        • Discharge patients (teaching, documentation, and physical discharge)
