Grumman Tactical Space Systems Division, Space Security (SpS)
Business Unit (BU) is seeking a Director 1 to join our team of
qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located in Dulles,
VA or Gilbert, AZ with frequent travel between the sites as well as
the Launch Site and various Customer facilities.This position is
responsible for leading a team of diverse technical specialties
through all phases of shaping, capture, architecting, design,
integration, test and fielding of a unique, revolutionary space
mission. If selected, the incumbent would be simultaneously
responsible for leading execution of the current execution phase
and capturing the next iterations of this capability.Program
Directors are responsible for guiding their team through all phases
of the program life cycle from inception through startup,
execution, and completion.Primary responsibilities include:
- Work with Space Security leadership to develop and communicate
an organizational or mission roadmap.
- Cultivating customer relationships to develop further
opportunities.
- Establishing an efficient program organizational structure and
processes.
- Identifying, allocating and managing program resources.
- Leading and directing cross-functional Integrated Program Teams
(IPT).
- Measuring and reporting program performance to the customer and
NG leadership.
- Delivering clear and compelling presentations to
stakeholders.
- Participating in the negotiation of contracts and key
terms.
- Establishing design concepts and engineering efforts for
product research, development, integration and test.
- Creation, review and finalization of the program Statement of
Work.
- Identification, distribution, tracking, and completion of
program requirements.
- Development and adherence to budget baselines utilizing Earned
Value Management (EVM).
- Managing suppliers to meet program objectives.
- Ensuring program team understands and adheres to contract
scope.
- Conducting thorough risk management practices.Basic
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and 10 years, or master's degree and 7 years'
experience supporting U.S. Government programs.
- At least one technical degree from a nationally accredited
institution.
- Currently holds and ability to maintain Top Secret
clearance.
- 5+ years' experience working on space system programs.
- 5 years of familiarity with Northrop Grumman program
execution.
- Ability to travel up to 5 days per month.
- Business Acumen: Knowledge of business and financial
concepts.
- Communications: Ability to manage communications with
stakeholders.
- Issue & Problem Resolution: Proactive approach to issue and
problem resolution.
- Program Integration: Ability to manage program
interdependencies.
- Risk & Opportunity: Experience addressing uncertainty through
an organized approach.Preferred Qualifications:
- Currently holds and ability to maintain Top Secret//SCI
clearance.
- Four years of demonstrated success leading high-performance
teams.
- Previous experience as a Program Director or Portfolio
Director.
- Advanced degree in either STEM or Business Management.
- Experience as a Program Manager leading a development program
with a contractual value of at least $100M.
- 5 or more years of relevant experience supporting DoD or IC
contracts.
- Experience with cost-plus and fixed-price contract types.
- Experience with counterspace architectures, missions,
technologies, or customers.
- Capture Management: Insight into customer considerations.
- Technical Performance: Ability to establish a technical
performance baseline.
- Requirements: Ability to define and confirm requirements
throughout the program life cycle.
- Planning, Scheduling & Earned Value: Ability to develop and
control program plans and cost baselines.
- Customer intimacy: Seeks and incorporates input from
customers.Salary Range: $187,700 - $325,900Northrop Grumman is
